Viewing Apple's World

[CuRRent MooD:] Fine

[CuRRent Song:] None

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Ikea's Christmas Hot Plate / Iced Lemon Tea

Someone has provided a nice article about viewing Apple differently from other companies:

ComputerWorld: Four Things you need to know about Apple

Of note:

- Everything Apple sells is an Apple product

After reading the article, you have to agree what the author said is right. Everything that Apple makes and uses, they treat it as theirs.

- Apple products are disposable

Upon thinking how they make the products, all are built in batteries. Since batteries in most mindsets are somehowwhat disposable, I must say they have a unique view about the gadgets they make. Maybe even their laptops.

- Nothing exists unless Apple sells it

This emphasizes just how much Apple lives in their own world. I have nothing too much to say about it though.

- Apple doesn't want to be a successful business

I believe this view is written with a tinge of humour in it. I do not believe any business wants to operate without profit, but I must say that Apple does it in a way that when they do things they want it to be good and popular.

Google Jokes

[CuRRent MooD:] Fine and smiling

[CuRRent Song:] Dunno

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Mixed Vege Rice / Pearl Milk Tea

Guys, have you heard of Google Jokes?

Bet you haven't - because I've recently discovered it. No no no...it's not a goofy thing that Google made directly, rather it's something I found interesting to the point of funny about Google.

For a start, let us step into the famous Google Search Engine, www.google.com.sg (mine is .sg):

Try typing "I am e" - e.g. I was trying to type "I am extremely bored" but do not complete the sentence:

I am extremely terrified of chinese people!!! OMG!!! Are we that terrifying???

Now try "Google is"...

OMG Google is going to take over the world! Not really much of a news, judging by the way how it rules the Web now.

Okay since we're at Google, why not Microsoft? Let us try "Microsoft is " (with the space)...

Microsoft is dead - certainly a scam for now. :P

Now we can create our own jokes in Google - what's yours?

From Mr. Chang, the Msia blogger

[CuRRent MooD:] Fine

[CuRRent Song:] None

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Mushroom Swiss Meal / Pearl Milk Tea

This is yet again from Alicia's bro...another "woman thing"...maybe you ppl had heard/read before but oh well...

9 Words Common to Women

1. Fine
This is the word women use to end an argument when they think they are right no matter what and you need to shut up.

2. Five minutes
If she is getting dressed, this means half an hour to one hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if she tells you that you have been given five more minutes to watch the football game before getting your sorry ass up from the couch to help around the house.

3. Nothing
This is the calm before the storm. This means something and you should be on your toes, and you're almost considered fucked. Keep asking until she gives you a different reply other than "nothing". If you do not continue asking, you're fucked as well.

Arguments that begins with nothing usually ends in fine.
(Refer back to #1 for the meaning of fine)

4. Go ahead
This is a dare, not persmission. Don't do it or you're fucked.

5. Loud sigh
This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you're an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing.
(Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing)

6. That's OK
This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's OK means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

So it's NOT OK.

7. Thanks
When a women is thanking you, do not question or faint. Just say "You're welcome". Unless she says "Thanks a lot" - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say "you're welcome" because that will bring on a "whatever".
(Refer to to #8 for the meaning of whatever)

8. Whatever
It is a women's way of saying "Screw you".

9. Don't worry about it, I got it
Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a women has told a man to do several times but she's now doing it hreself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" and to be greeted with a "nothing".

Then, you're fucked.
(Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing)

Over a month :)

[CuRRent MooD:] Fine, busy

[CuRRent Song:] None

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Milo

Time flies and it's a month that both Serene and I are an item :) there were many issues, and I believe there will be more to come, but which relationship doesn't have problems? I should be glad they come sooner than later, so we can understand each other better and grow in each other's understanding. It's kinda bad of me to make the 1st month so uneventful (we didn't go anywhere apart watching football) but at least I made a small lil pressie for her...I'll upload the pic when I can.

Anyway, from a 香港茶餐厅...

Please tell me I'm queuing for food and not for tables. Or helping tables to queue up. So sad.

The Power of Asset Management

[CuRRent MooD:] Fine, quite fine =)

[CuRRent Song:] Giacomo Caria - Light My Fire (SEB 155)

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Western Chow's Chicken Chop / Unknown leaves' tea brewed by mum

Before I begin, maybe some might wonder "when did Luke become a fund manager or some sort? Thought he has always been that IT geek?"

No no...I won't call myself an IT geek with this entry, but it's not the usual asset management that we listen about here and there. I'm going to talk about Human Asset(s) Management.

Get it now?

This post is inspired by a meetup with Virneige (Christina) today over at my workplace area. I went thru her blog yesterday and found that she's working in my area...only that it's the last day today! Well due to nice and good luck, we did manage to meet up and we went Creative to take lunch.

Wrong choice of food - took the bland Laksa for lunch (well, it's better than Atrium's)...then figure it's a bit early to go back given the fact we have not met over a long period of time. A quick thought and off we were to TCC (The Coffee Connoisseur) for lunch part 2.

It was a slightly better lunch as I ordered Pizza Baguette, then we went on chatting about life, about jobs in general. She talked about the few job interviews she went and work places, and which one she preferred for the past year so far. So then it goes...

...we were talking about interviews when she mentioned about this cab which was supposed to go to Toa Payoh but ended up going the west side.

All because (ok we believe so really) of Christina's most admirable and obvious assets! Here's the small episode...

Chris flags cab, cabbie stops.

Chris: "Uncle, I wanna go xxx" (I forgot exactly where but it's out of place)
Cabbie: "Sorry, I going Toa Payoh"
Chris: "Uncle...please..." (somehow for some unknown reason she bent down a little, bring some bits of her assets in glory)
Cabbie: (glances at her direction) "Oh ok, hop in!"

Wow, talking about Assets returning dividends!

Chris reaches her destination, then gives the money. Uncle returns change while bending in such an angle which probably make us think the safety belt has reached its limit. While Chris keeps the change, the uncle could still come up with "Okay? Is the change correct?" which looking at her...

The power of Assets.

On an occasion or two in her new workplace (she's in IT line so a lot of times it's like 90% males) she will be introduced to her colleagues and those guys, so engrossed in their tablework, suddenly beamed a smile and faces lit up once they see Chris! That was so funny when Chris was describing about it! Chris just seems to be a walking Sun, beaming up everyone!

And on another occasion, she went for an interview. There was this interviewer (lady) and another guy, probably a manager or something (guy). So Chris will look at the lady during the interview (respect ma, nothing wrong) but the interviewer was like looking at her face...then sometimes the eyes will look down to Chris' proud assets...den look back...and forth...it was like WTF!!! LOL...while the manager will be like looking elsewhere but actually using the corner of his eyes to glance at Chris...LOL

So I came up with this silly situation after the interview...

Manager: (talking to interviewer) "Hey, did you notice if she is wearing specs?"
Interviewer: "Eh no, actually I didn't notice"

Wahahahahahaha....

Oh yea, talked so much, maybe some might wanna know the "secrets" of Chris' successful Asset Management! She was telling me how she loved to eat papayas while she was young, she wants her daughter next time to invest in Asset Management by drinking papaya soup! Then nowadays she just drinks milk and maybe some form of exercise? Hahaha...so the formula should be...

1) young, drink papaya, eat papaya
2) older a bit drink milk to maintain
3) and exercise...but that one the details I dunno...so you may wanna check out my links and ask her yourself...:P

In an alternative form of Asset Management, knowing what your assets are is pretty important. Apart from the admirable pair of cushions in front, other greats assets include the eyes, the lips and many many more! It just depends on how assets are being maintained and utilised to fullest ability!

Just so happens I got to know a new facebook friend that have quite nice eyes, she can even charm 55 year old ah-pehs lor...power rite! ;)

Gonna end the topic of Asset Management for now. When I have more, I'll be back.

Final post of the year?

[CuRRent MooD:] Bored

[CuRRent Song:] None

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Curry Chicken + Rice / Pineapple drink

Wow...waiting for time to pass...waiting for manager to say "ok you guys OTOT disappear"...zzz but have anot wait until now still no sound lor...

Anyway in my absolute boredom, I coined a most stupid word...

"sobor", means very bored (very boring)

"It has been sobor since morning..."

If "sobor" is a verb, the past tense will be "sobored".

Noticed how I coined the word? LOL.

Anyway, Happy New Year!

Time flies, weekend gone!

[CuRRent MooD:] Fine

[CuRRent Song:] DJ Lhasa - Baby One Day

[Last FooD/BeveRage:] Some chicken ramen / Teh-Peng

Gonna rack my brains to blog this one...the week has been well, rather eventful perhaps? =)

Wednesday:

The day was okay to say the least...stuff ard here and there, then went back with Leong in the GSK bus to JE. Felt a lil headache...but shrugged it off, went back home and online...saw Josephine online. Casually chatted with her, in the end it became a dinner outing with me going down to City Hall (ouch).

Met up with her, then after walking around a lil we proceeded to Marina Square to have dinner. I thought of Changing Appetites, and while on our way there she stopped by a gift/flowers shop. Went inside for less than a min, then out of it along the way telling me how nice it would be to receive flowers and stuff.

It's just me to conjure silly surprises even for a friend just to make her happy, so on the pretext of going to the Gents (which I did), I went back to the shop and bought 3 roses which are nicely decorated, then I walked back. I think I did a good job to hide the flowers till I reach the table, then pleasantly surprising her with them. I think she's very happy to say the least, though she did say it'll be better if it's a gift on Valentine's day...haha, maybe to you readers it might sound like a hint but no, I will certainly say it's not...let's just say it's another story.

Well...at least she appreciates my effort...I can tell...the happiness brimming from her face, it felt good that I managed to make someone's day.

But comes the bad part...

Thursday:

REPORTED SICK. Headache, lethagia...whatever, I could not really come out of bed properly so I had little choice but to report sick. Collapsed onto my bed after that and slept through the late afternoon and went to see a doctor...

After wasting time here and there at home, I felt better so I went to Holland Village to transfer my funds. As I walked out of the bank, someone msged me - Virneige.

Blablabla...hmmm? She wanted to come down my place to look for me? Oh okay!

So after some planning here and there, we met up @ the Kopitiam at my place. There we started our chat sessions and wow, she's wearing a dress! Before we got on the topic...

...we ordered drinks. Normal? So the auntie comes along...

Auntie: 你们要喝什么?
Vir: 给我牛奶加冰。
Auntie:不可以!牛奶不可以加冰!会有“风”的!
Vir:。。。
Auntie:真的不可以!我试过!不可以加冰!要听我的!要就喝烧的!
Me:给我teh peng.
Auntie:好,teh peng 一个。
Vir:好啦,给我牛奶水热的。。。
Auntie:好。。。这就对,不可以加冰!

Virneige was saying that in one kopitiam the uncle onli served her twice and remembered her order, now she came to my place and the considerate auntie tells her she can't drink it! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

So she continued her stories and we ended up with laughter and stuff....time flies and it soon reaches 12mn...time to go? That was when Tilong (our mutual primary school fren) called and said he'll be coming down.

Guess what? I reached home @ 2+am.

OUCH.

Friday:

Work and work...then after that went to walk a bit around...then went home chill a bit. The thing about the night was probably a call from Sunshine (we haven't been chatting for like ages) so we chatted quite a bit, hung up and called again till nearly 2am.

Saturday:

Woke up, went to market with mum...then came back home to...lemme think, to clear my utility room! Guess what, my PC is back in my room! So spent the time cleaning up my computer table and stuff, and moved it back my room. Wireless equipment is still in the living room, waiting the next day to clear.

Cleared till like early evening, I took the bus down to PS to meet my brother...had a game of DDR...DAMN DAMN DAMN I am still recovering from illness and there I am, disgracing myself by failing the songs now and then! GRRR!!! After that went to LJS to makan alongside bro, his gf, Linda and Guoyan (bro's godsis)...after that, went to Esplanade...the setting is okay but the people just ain't correct cos all are couples (Guoyan had her bf coming along later) apart from me and Linda...so while walking back they began their stupid jokes...

Guoyan: See we all couples!
Linda: No lah, me and Luke not lor
Guoyan: You two a pair lah!
Me: No lah! Me not pear (pair) lor! I am Avocardo! She (Linda) den is pear!

*laughter*

Me: I know a friend by name of Orange lor! And Apple! What else you want?

LOL...stupid conversation...after that I took a cab down Dbl O...guess what? RETRO NIGHT!!! WOOT!!! Went up...then saw Pat!!! HEHE!!! Then she intro some of her "sisters"...then I ordered Brandy Coke...the music was great, people was ok (in fact I was only with Pat so......) so I just dance a bit by myself...den went to Gents...come back and saw......

MINGDE ("Chen Wei Lian") and VIVIAN, both MU kakis!!! COOL!!! So after I went to Pat's area and told her I'm off the dance floor, I went to look for both of them and started grooving to RETRO!!! Mingde's kinda lucky to have a beautiful lady trying to hit on him (but he kindly refused), and yeah that's just about the highlight for him? LOL...then I received msg from Pat and I went back to look for her...

Suddenly thought of someone I knew from my last visit to Dbl O - Ben, Orange and Cellie's friend. Is he here? I msged him, but it was only a while later I got a response that he happened to be at O Bar! I am so lucky! Hahahaha!!! I brought Pat to dance a lil and upon the music going out of Retro's way, we made our way down to O Bar...

...and it's RnB! Well good thing I did drink a bit so the grooves were fine (and come to think the music was ok) so I bumped onto Matthew before seeing Ben. So introed Pat to him, and continued dancing in O Bar till closure...then we shared cab back.

Today:

Slp till about 1+...den continued the chores at home till 7+...then preped myself, went down JE to meet up wif Orange to have dinner and passed her Chobits. Yeah just about it...

Whew. Finally done, before I end my blogging, show you pple something...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The white stuff is a coverup for that lady, oh well my loyalists will know who I'm referring to. Guess she really made her choice after all!

Take care, Penguin. =)
